about BABI Antenatal classes
Babi offers one to one antenatal classes in Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and the surrounding areas. Sessions are held in your own home and cover all aspects of pregnancy, labour, birth and the early postnatal period.
My name is Nia Capeling (pronounced like Mia but with an N).
I am a qualified midwife with a 1st class BSc (Hons) degree from De Montfort University in Leicester.
I have three children, and have had three very different births. I approached my first pregnancy with a mixture of excitement, fear, and a huge sense of vulnerability. My husband and I attended group antenatal classes but would have been more comfortable with private coaching should it have been on offer at the time; we very much needed the information and reassurance, but were not keen on the group learning style. I firmly believe that one size does not fit all.
Having worked in maternity units and in community midwifery, I can guide you through what to expect from maternity services. I am based in North Leicestershire, giving easy access to all areas of the East Midlands including Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire.
It’s all about you.
You are a parent-to-be, but you are also an individual and what’s right for some might not be right for everyone. Group antenatal classes are perfect for many people but others prefer a more personal approach with the reassurance that can be gained from a customisable experience.
You might be uncomfortable in groups, prefer privacy, have particular needs or want to fill in knowledge gaps following on from group classes.
You might want information specific to caesarean sections or water births, breastfeeding or bottle.
Or you might just prefer the convenience and added advantages of personalised antenatal classes at a time and place to suit you.
There is no right or wrong when it comes to your feelings and hopes for pregnancy, birth and parenthood. We simply work together so you can make the right choices for you and your new family.
